Key Stage 4 Geography
For GCSE Geography students sit an examination worth 75% of their total grade. In Year 10 they study population, plate tectonics, urbanisation and coasts. In Year 11 they complete the controlled task on urban change in the local area. This is worth 25% of their grade. They then complete the course by studying coasts and tourism.
In Year 10 they study pollution, rivers and tourism. In the last term they complete the controlled task. In Year 11 they then complete plate tectonics, coasts and urban environments.
Assessment and Examinations (AQA)
Written examination: 75%
Controlled Task: 25%
